The trains brought lots of people, there was live music, lots of burgers and hot dogs were served, pumpkins were inspected, sold, and even chucked! Lots of pictures were taken too and we've posted them in our gallery for you to enjoy.

Rotary Bulletin |
02.02.10
Last Week's Program
Last week, Past District Governor Mike introduced Mark von
Hoetzendorff who is a member of the San Ramon Rotary Club.
Mark is also a Past District Governor who served in Rotary year
2002/2003 in our District. Mark spoke about his recent trip to Benin
in West Africa where he participated in a National Immunization
Day (NID) administering polio vaccines to children living in small
villages in the African-bush.
Visiting Rotarians Last Week
We had two Visiting Rotarians last week. Rotarian Jerry
Wilkerson whose classification is Banking visited us from
the Vallejo Club and Past District Governor Mark von
Hoetzendorff from the San Ramon Club was our Guest
Speaker.
Important Announcements
Sunshine Report – Rotarian Zach Powell reported that Past
President Don Callison is still in the Vaca-Valley Hospital Room
1101. He dearly misses his Tuesday Rotary Meetings and his
many friends from our Club. He may not be ready for visitors
but he really enjoys the “get well” cards.
Academic Decathlon Is Here – Board Member Cynthia
Garcia reminded Club Members that they need to be at
Rodriquez High School at 10am this coming Saturday morning.
This hands-on work project will conclude at 1:30pm. Block out
this Saturday on your calendar. The Club will be preparing and
serving lunch to over 400 contestants and staff at Rodriquez
High School. We need people who will be grilling the food,
doing the prep work, serving and cleaning up. This is a large
under-taking and we need at least 30 Rotarians to roll-up their
sleeves and pitch-in.
Rotary Grows During Down Economy!
Would you believe that in a year of economic havoc that
rocked global markets and shook consumer confidence,
Rotary’s most important asset – its members - grew steadily. As
of June 30, 2009, we added 3,044 (net) new Rotarians. During
the same Rotary year we also added 520 new Clubs. What
accounts for this increase? The answer is simple, 5700 clubs
grew by 10% or better last year!
